Why are Liverpool 3rd in the champions league despite scoring 14 goals?
I checked the Group A Champions League 07/08.
Liverpool have scored 14 and let-go 5. Means their Goal Diffrence is 9.
Marseille on the other hand, have scored 6 and let-go 5. Which makes their Goal Diffrence only 1.
Both teams have 7 points, but why are Liverpool Still 3rd not 2nd?

Check out Liverpool’s results:
Porto1-1Liverpool
Liverpool0-1Marseille
Besiktas2-1Liverpool
Liverpool8-1Besiktas
Liverpool4-1Porto
So, that’s 14 goals scored and 5 conceded.2 wins,2 losses and a draw.
1997 UEFA Champions League Final : Borussia Dortmund – Juventus Turin
28 May 1997. Munich – Olympiastadion.Karl-Heinz Riedle put Dortmund ahead finishing from Paul Lambert’s cross. Riedle then made it 2 with a bullet header from a corner kick. In the second half, Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero, who had come on as a substitute, scored on a heel deflection after a cross, to make the score 2-1. Then 20 year old substitute and Dortmund local boy Lars Ricken latched on to a through pass by Andreas Möller. Only 16 seconds after coming on to the pitch Ricken chipped Angelo Peruzzi in the Juve goal from over 20 yards with his first touch of the ball. Ricken became the youngest player ever to score in a Champions League final, and his goal was the fastest ever by a substitute in said event. With Zinedine Zidane unable to make an impression against Lambert’s marking, Juve were beaten. The 3 – 1 victory gave Borussia their first — and only to date — Champions League title.

when was the last time aston villa qualified to the champions league?
I checked the premier league/first division tables at wiki and Villa twice ended second..but the 1992-93 season they qualified to the UEFA Cup while i dont know about the 1989-90 season. Have they ever qualified to the champions league since their victory in 1981-82?

ASTON Villa had never qualified to the UEFA Champions League in its current format.
What is the greatest UEFA Champions League match you have ever watched?
Mine would have to be the Liverpool vs AC Milan 2005 Champions League Final. It probably would’ve been the 1999 CL Final between Manchester Utd and Bayern Munich but I was only about 5 and did’nt watch it! Thanks for all your answers!

Nothing will ever beat that unless an underdog team comes from 4 down in the CL Final.
Also 1999 MU were favorites, they should have won that match easily.
