A Question From A User

The Champions League has been a huge success and draws astronomic viewing figures from around the world. Would you welcome a global version? If your answer is too many fixtures then the dross and no hopers could be cut from the UEFA CL making it a competition for 16 teams in the final stages not 32. Personally I find the idea very exciting and could involve the worlds top 8 teams battling for the World Crown.

Answer

I personally think the Champions League format is fine. It’s already expensive to travel to see away games so imagine how much it would cost if you had to fly to Argentina. The World Club Championships and the Intercontinental Cup are sufficient at the moment.
