UEFA Champions League Theme Song
Did you know that the UEFA Champions League theme song was performed by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and sung by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields chorus?
It is an arrangement by Tony Britten of Georg Frideric Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” from the Coronation Anthems.
Who says that Football Fans can’t also be Culture Vultures?

What is the big attraction about Real Madrid?
A Question From A User
Right this whole dilemma really does puzzle me into thinking: Why would you want to go to Real Madrid?
Cristiano Ronaldo is a classic example. Why would he want to go to Real madrid, yes I understand the money is partly why but the talent that he is with is not as superior as that of the old Real Madrid. They are an aging squad and I couldn’t think why Ronaldo (apart from money) would like to leave Manchester United for the lacklustre Real Madrid?

What are your thoughts on the matter?
Gladiator – Barça’s Champions League Motivation Video

This is a pretty cool video – especially if you support Barça AND understand Catalan.
It tells the story of how Pep Guardiola commissioned the Catalan TV station to prepare a motivation video to be shown to the players just before the the 2009 Champions League Final against Manchester United.
As the Final was in Rome, the film Pep chose for the raw material was Gladiator. TV3 cut, spliced and mixed footage of the Barça players with images of Russell Crowe.

If you can get through the first couple of minutes of Catalan, you get to see the complete video. You really see why some of the players ran onto the pitch with tears in their eyes!
